Split PDF

Split one PDF by page ranges. One range per line, optional file names, then download a ZIP or a single PDF—no server upload.

Use comma-separated page numbers or ranges.

Lines match ranges in order. Empty lines use automatic names.

Range lines: 1 / File-name lines: 0

Split when you need only some chapters, when one scan is oversized, or when teams need different sections. PareKit splits in the browser: ranges like 1-3 and 5-7 become separate files. Multiple ranges zip together; one range yields a single PDF. Optional names per line keep outputs tidy. Encrypted or corrupt PDFs may fail—save an unlocked copy first. About fifty megabytes and two hundred pages per file keep memory predictable. Typical uses include contract exhibits, chapter shares, and manual excerpts.

Range-based split extracts only the pages you need instead of sending a full document. Each line in the multi-range field defines a segment; the first line maps to the first output file when you use custom names. Empty name lines fall back to automatic names so you are never blocked by optional fields. Single-range workflows skip ZIP packaging for convenience. Encrypted PDFs or bad exports may fail—open them in a desktop reader, remove protection, or save a fresh copy before splitting again. Large page counts increase memory use, so the two-hundred-page guideline keeps most sessions smooth. Common scenarios include pulling exhibits from contracts, separating scanned bundles by chapter, and creating shareable slices of manuals. Because work happens locally, confidential material never transits our infrastructure. After download, spot-check each file’s page count before you distribute it. Pair this tool with merge when you later need to recombine approved sections only.

FAQ

Is split PDF free?

Yes. No payment, no account, and no watermark on the files you download.

Are files uploaded to a server?

No. Splitting runs in your browser. Your PDF is not uploaded for processing.

What is the difference between one range and several?

One range produces a single PDF download. Several ranges produce a ZIP with one file per range.

Can I set custom file names?

Yes. Enter one file name per line to match each range line. Mismatched counts show a warning until you fix them.

Why is my range invalid?

Page numbers must fall between one and the document page count. Use commas or hyphens as shown in the placeholder examples.
